In an innocent heartland city, five are shot dead by an expert sniper. The police quickly identify and arrest the culprit, and build a slam-dunk case. But instead of confessing, the accused man writes the words, "Get Jack Reacher." Reacher himself sees the news report and turns up in the city. The defense is immensely relieved, but Reacher has come to bury the guy. Shocked at the accused's request, Reacher sets out to confirm for himself the absolute certainty of the man's guilt, but comes up with more than he bargained for.

Review :

Great film.

Jack Reacher was a surprisingly fantastic film. I went in thinking, thanks to some slightly misleading trailers, that this was going to be a high octane action movie with a bunch of gun fights, car chases, and explosions but little development and quality. I was completely wrong. While there were a few gun fights, one car chase, and an explosion of sorts, it was done in a completely different manner and was more of an action thriller. Tom Cruise did a great job in his typical role. The rest of the supporting cast was solid enough and the cameo by Robert Duvall was awesome. The plot developed really well and made it more of a "thinking movie" than I anticipated. That being said, the turns in the plot kept the film from becoming stagnant or boring and the action sequences felt real and authentic. I wasn't a huge fan of some of the cinematic elements and there were some flaws in one of the plot twists but nothing that really hurt the movie-watching experience. All-in-all, I'd say this was a great movie that most people would very much enjoy watching.

Review :

Very Boring & Disappointing

Oh my god ! .. The Avengers was a big disappointment to me ! I can't believe how doll and bored I was during the 2 hours and 20 minutes playtime of the movie ..

The directing was so bad and I think the director thinks the audience are so stupid or retarded to believe those cheap story lines or cheap jokes or even cheap plot .. The script was so cheap and boring and the characters didn't blend with each other at all ..

I'm not even impressed by the special effects of the movie .. I think X-Men 3 or Spider Man showed a lot more special effect than this one .. I nearly enjoyed the last scene of the entire movie but this was not enough for such a movie who earned unbelievable high ratings ..

Finally, when I knew that the director has never directed such super hero movies and he has only directed for the TV (like Buffy series), I know why this movie sucked !! still can't believe how it got 8.6 really !!

Review :

"Oh no, you've found my weakness. it's small knives"

Unnecessary? Maybe - it could be debated that the Tobey Maguire Spiderman that came out a decade ago was in no need of an improvement, although I agree with that this movie does the smart thing that a remake of an adaptation can do and that is move closer to the source material.

Meaning yes the lame sense of humour, the over-the-top acrobatics - THAT'S Spider-Man. Haters of this movie and lovers of the Sam Raimi Trilogy (possibly meaning both) will probably have their jaws dropped - maybe because I found this movie to have a substantial reason for a remake/reboot (the other being to try something different that works).

As far as entertainment from this movie goes - I liked it but I miss JK Simmons as J Jonah Jameson - the way he is played & written is so good it increases my ratings for each movie by a whole star. Say what you will about either - the character is classic. Stan Lee's cameo in this is actually one of the funniest I have seen since the "you look great Heff" in Iron Man.

So I think this is a good movie and will suggest it for everyone who's seen the original, just so they can say which version they prefer.
